I know that some shops (CD & Brothers ) offer a "sway bar"
for 1/2 tons but does anyone know of one for a 3/4 ton
('47 to '55) ! or has anyone built there own !

The storebought sway bars are for Chevies and new mounts must be made to bolt to a GMC crossmember. GMC ½-ton panels and suburbans came with sway bars that will fit pick-ups. Don't know if they'll fit a ¾-ton or not. They didn't make ¾-ton panels and I don't know if a 1-ton panel had them. Look for a 1-ton panel in a wrecking yard and look under it.
