Hi,

Does anyone have any pictures of a factory v8 Rochester 2bbl. Kind of looking one for a Hydramatic Truck not sue if they were different. I have one that is missing a few pieces and the throttle bracket looks different then others examples I've seen.

I have the factory 283 two barrel Rochester in my '57, only problem is that it's not a car engine, it's a truck, 4 speed, with factory governor. It might not be what you are looking for.

57 Chevy cars did not come equipped with Hydramatic transmissions- - - -they had a cast iron 2 speed Powerglide. There was a piece of mechanical throttle linkage that operated the throttle pressure bellcrank on the driver's side of the transmission. Are you talking about a car or a truck?

Shoot, sorry I meant 1957 Chevy Truck. Which trucks got a carb with a governor? I would love to see the accelerator linkage on the carb and the rods that connect to carb, I don't know what those are called. The ones Ive seen are slightly curved and the one I have on mine is straight.

I have several Rochester 2G carbs & a couple sets of accelerator linkage for 1957 3100 factory v8. Off manual trans trucks. Let me know if could use pics or measurements of same.
To my limited knowledge, new trucks could be ordered with governors from factory---assumed by mainly commercial/industrial applications. Appears to have been a popular option as governors are discussed in shop manuals and FAM's.

Hi, here are some pics, its apart and I think I have one of the other "rods" for the choke plate I have to find it. I believe its straight as well. I purchased it from someone and he has a picture of it there, but the parts came in boxes so I will have to look.

Keep in mind that these photos are from the engine in my Low Cab Forward, I would think that the linkage on the carb itself would be the same as you need, the throttle rod from the peddle might be different than your application. The cable at the top of the carb is the choke, the other cable is the hand throttle. Hope this gives you some direction.

After I took these pictures for Cozsum I was re-installing the oil bath filter and the hold-down casting broke away from the throat of the carb, it must have been cracking a little bit from prior remove/install episodes. I took the carb top off, drilled through the side of the casting where the original attachment was located and fab'd a basket style hold-down. Makes me feel sad when an original part is injured. At least we can keep the old iron going with some bailing wire and a stovebolt, hail to old school.
