Hi there guys, I'm a newbie in all sense of the word. I don't even know how to start my own thread on here.

Anyway I'm the new proud owner of a 62 Grumman Olson kurbside with a Chevy chassis.

Long story short I walked into the DMV wide-eyed and handed them the West Virginia title and they registered it for me in Virginia as a private van before I had insurance it.

Now I want to add it to my insurance (progressive) but I just read that a stepvan isn't aloud on it.

So, can any one tell how I get this beast insured?

And my fat fingers hit post on my tiny screen. So again. Any tips on insuring a stepvan that is already registered as a private van in the state of Virginia? Oh and how do I start my own thread?

Statefarm was kind enough to give me coverage as a person vehicle until I can get it up to par with their camper requirements. My progressive sent me through 5 departments that all told me, they couldn't help me. Looks like my Jeep and VW will be switching insurance.
