Your two 3107 Canopy Express trucks are incredible. They are the rarest of stovebolts.
112 1/2 ton Canopy Express Chevrolet trucks were built in 1953. That was 0.04% of the total Chevrolet truck production in 1953. It was the rarest 1/2 truck that year.
How/where did you find them?
Please post a little history about each truck.
Good luck getting them roadworthy. I’m even a little cramped in my ‘62 C-10. That being said I would still love to own one. Keep yours as original as you can as Tim said they are the rarest of the rare.ðŸ›

| | | | Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 237 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 237 | thanks fellas, the 38 canopy was posted on ebay a while back and i was about to bid on it but learned a friend of mine was bidding as well so i stopped. he purchased it from michigan and swapped the motor with a 235 and also swapped the trans for a t-5 and the rear end is from a nissan pathfinder. my son and i worked on the brakes from gas lines to cylinders replacing it all. the fuel tank was also replaced as well as the lines, the outside is all original. and i plan to keep it like that maybe add clear not sure. but it has the original from what im told chicken cage, not sure what it was used for in Michigan as it was stored for 20 years. the 53 canopy came from canadian texas, an old timer owned it for his shop and stored fruit. he swapped the motor and put a 250 in it leaving the rest as is. i did have problems in firing it up as the starter was burned, the tank needed replacement as well as brakes all the way around. the clutch later took a nose dive. but thank God we were able to do all the work ourselves except for the clutch, it was "Frankenstein" together and i coudlnt figure it out, a friend had to make some levers for me and got it running. that truck has been driven by my son and i from los angeles to san diego with no problems at all. the tires make a big difference. | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | | | | | Joined: Dec 2014 Posts: 678 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2014 Posts: 678 |
