Ive got a 55 chevy pickup 2nd series. Im putting in a small block for a little more go. Id like to find a radiator that will fit, but that is also econmoically priced. Does anyone know if there is anywhere you can find a generic radiator of a close enough size that can be made to work? All the ones ive found are specific to the vehicle and a costing around 400. Thanks.

I had mine re-cored with a 4 pass core for about $320. I was able to keep the stock look with more capacity. It was also much less than the aftermarket ones I was quoted ($450-550).

your alternative is to measure things up and head to a wreckers to find something close, but keep in mind that the OEM rad core support is what holds the front sheet metal together in alignment and mounts it to the front of the frame
