Well, not much work done on the old truck, yet.
But, we did have fun on the Fourth!
This is the old fellow, hauling “ The Montana Bluegrass Hotshots” band.
Seeley Lake.

Hey, yes , this old 3 ton has the 302 as well. Is your truck a fire truck? Looks like not.
I’m very fond of this GMC , and am about to start in on the project of removing the in-line water pumper,
And hopefully replace with a Brownie over / direct/ under . Haven’t located the transmission yet, but am
hopeful of finding it locally in Missoula. This 302 has hardly any miles on it.
How is your 302? Have you run it a lot?

I bought it right before I left to go back to Las Vegas for work. We had it running and driving in the field. It quit getting fuel (guessing fuel pump). She runs great just need to look at brakes. Truck has 17k miles one it. Hoping to find a hydraulic lift for the bed and use it around the farm when I’m in town.

Sounds like a good low mileage 302!
I had an issue with my fuel pump, when moving the truck 80 miles or so, where it seemed to be plugged up, and starved the engine for fuel. Before ordering one I took it apart and cleaned it out, and now it works fine. It looked new inside, as does the gas tank.
The pump has the two stage, with vacuum pump included for the wipers. I haven’t gotten the wipers working yet, so not sure if the vacuum pump section is really working. I think I would have this one rebuilt, if necessary, rather than buying an after market.
But ,the truck only shows 5000 miles on it, true miles, as it was a fire truck near to us.
This truck had dry brakes too, and we bled it, and though it showed some leakage at the left rear wheel from before, it has held fluid
for a year and a half, though not driven too much. The hydro vac work excellent, you have to be careful how hard you hit the brakes !
We are retiring and I am starting in April, building a dream camper on this truck, wish me luck!
Charley

Sounds like you have a great foundation for the camper. I can’t wait to dive back into working on my truck. Hoping to be driving on the road by summer.
