i just bought a new "old truck" and i'm not sure what i have... my Virginia title states it is a "33"... the engine number matches the title (K4836302)... but there is a tag on the firewall with the number: (2EB01 2299)... i understand this "EB" is a 1935 designation... can anyone help me figure this thing out... in case it's not already obvi I am new to the forum and also new to old Chevy trucks... but i'm glad to be here!!!

Sounds like a '35, the K designation on the engine indicates that the motor is likely a commercial truck motor (big truck). If the tranny is a 3spd it is stock - if 4spd, it also came from a big truck.

Good Morning, I myself am new to the old iron rebuild and stovebolt. Your steps ahead of me, I only have a serial number no letters! I bought be cause I had to have it and then realized no title means lots of leg work to try and get it registered. My engine is a 33, chassis is a 1/2 commercial it and along with everything else on the thing seems to be a mix of left overs from 29-32, was this a normal thing to do back then or did I just get a mutt?

BBMONG, the person you are responding to has not been on Stovebolt in 10 years. It is always best to start your own thread instead of dragging up very old posts and replying to them. Every participant in this thread except for you is no longer an active Stovebolter. Just some friendly advise. Have fun with your project.
