The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area The Electrical Bay 3 or 4 inner fender terminal strips?

I see classic parts offering a 3 connection terminal strip and a 4 connection terminal strips for the headlights on the inner fender.

What is the difference? ...
(Other than one extra terminal)

Stock on your truck would be 3 terminals. High beams, low beams, and parking lights.
4 terminal strips could be used for turn signals (dual filament bulbs in the parking lights.)
Don't know if some (later?) trucks came with 4-terminal strips.
[on edit] Apparently 54-55 1st came with one of each. Don't know what the extra terminal was for. Link
[on edit again] Found a '54 wiring diagram. the 4th terminal was for the horn. (mounted behind the grille?)

In 1954, there were 3 terminals on the driver's side inner fender and 4 terminals on the passenger's side inner fender.

The 4th terminal is for the horn, which got moved "up front" in 1954.
