Would I be able to fit 8.25-20 on my dually rear end? Found a good deal on 4 tires in this size.
What's the correct stock size? I have 4x 7.5-20 on the back and 7-20s on the front... all mismatched and cracked to heck.
Thanks

I would think they should fit. How much rook do you have in between the duals now? Wider tires wil lbe closer together and you don't want the sidewalls to rub!

Hy Andy4802, Canadian Chevrolet Maple Leaf trucks are 2 1/2 ton and 3 ton, if you could post your trucks serial number I could tell you what you have. That said I think that 7.50 and 8.25 can be mounted to the same width of wheel. The only caution is what 69Cuda mentioned clearance between the tires when installed, hope that helps.

22.5 tubeless tires are direct replacements for 20's. How old are the 8.25 tires(date code).

Here's a pic of the serial plate. I'll measure between the rear tires. The 8.25 are DOT 2010 and seem to be in good shape.

Ed, forgive my ignorance but how does a 22.5 fit on a 20 rim?

22.5" tubeless rims are required for 22.5" tubeless tires which are a direct replacement for 20" tires.

There is only about 1 inch space between rear tires, I guess I'd better stick to 7.5-20?

Hy Andy4802, any amount of "space" is good we just don't want the tires to touch each other when installed.

Be sure they don't touch at the bulge on the ground.

Hy Andy4802, your serial number decodes as a 1939 Chevrolet Maple Leaf 2 1/2 ton cab and chassis with a 157" wheelbase. Although I can't confirm it at this time I suspect it was powered by a 224 cubic inch Chevrolet six cylinder engine, hope that helps.

Is that a Canadian engine size?

Hy Mike B and guys, the Chevrolet 224 is obviously a bit larger than the 216, the 224 has a bore of 3 9/16" whereas the 216 has a bore of 3 1/2", both engines have a 3 3/4" stroke. As to whether these are Canadian only engines I do not know. The 224 seems to be used more in the Canadian GMC trucks, the Canadian Chevrolet Maple Leaf trucks have much more in common with the GMC truck line than the Chevrolet truck line, the largest Maple Leaf the 3 ton had true GMC full precision bearinged engines the 248 in the years after 1939. I hope that clarifies the engine questions

Thanks 3B, I've never heard of a 224 before, so it must be a Canadian engine only. Was it made by Chevrolet or GMC? I know some of the Canadian GMC trucks got Chevrolet engines in the 1950's...

Hy Mike B and guys, the 224 was a Chevrolet engine, same as the 216 in all aspects except a larger bore 3 9/16" versus 3 1/2", hope that helps.
