Seen this on ebay and would consider buying it just to be different but the cap does not look complete,I presume its for a truck but never seen one on any 216 or early 235 before.

Looks like that is a valve cover and remnants of the valve cover air cleaner found on a late 1942-45 Chevy G506 235 engines.

A similar concept valve cover mounted air cleaner was used on the 216 used in Canadian Military Pattern Chevrolets during WW2.

I did not know a PCV system was made that far back,since I want to install one and would like to have all those parts.

That [PCV] system in military trucks was actually a way for military trucks to "ford" creeks during WWII.

I looked it over again and looks like that cap is not removable.
