They were using spray cans of epoxy paint. No ventilation. Her husband found them both unconscious on the basement floor about 1am Friday morning. They live out in the country and the closest EMS is about 15 minutes away. No pulses and no breathing. The husband alternated CPR until help arrived. The mother revived fairly quickly but the daughter was placed in a medically induced coma. Mother has a collapsed lung and broken rib from the CPR and has developed pneumonia. The daughter at first showed no neurological activity but has since improved dramatically. Both are expected to survive. For those doing small winter paint projects inside please remember to ventilate the area well and take regular breaks.
