Yes. Jeff's Fabrication Made it. He has a Sissle block at his shop and is friends with Mike Kirby. When I ordered it Jeff said probably $1600 and 6 weeks. It was delivered to my door on time for $1395. It's stout. no sheet metal there. I told him what I was building and what pump I was running and he did the rest.
OK, Inquiring minds want to know. What the heck is a Sissle block??
The pan looks nice for sure. Wish I could weld aluminum like that. I assume it's a dry sump setup.

Yes 5 stage dry sump. Kay Sissle Has been gone a long time but was famous for his 6 cylinder race engines. He made a 12 port aluminum head for the 250's and 292's. Made other heads too but they don't matter. Mike Kirby had worked with Kay and took over the shop. I believe Mike was a fireman. He's still doing stuff but is getting up in the years. He's a great guy and has helped me with my build for a couple of years. Always ready to give advice. His crowd is 1000 HP 292's. I'm no life long friend or ever met Kay but that is the way I understand the story. The Chevy inline 6 racing crowd isn't that large so people tend to know each other.

While I did not know ' Kay Sissle ' --- I did see him Race , back around 1968 @ " Green Valley Drag strip" : he was racing his 6 - powered Batam.
I've been a 'SIX - Guy' pretty much since then . My 69 Chevy Nova still has the 'matching numbers 250ci - 155hp six. Just the last few years; I've installed the
Holley 390 - 4bbl on an OFFY intake -- just running the original 250. Then, too make it more fun - - I installed a Borg-Warner w/c T 5 .
That up-grade made my Nova - - - a FUN Car too Drive , again . Thanks for th' memories .

Jim[/quote] That's a great story. I don't know if you know Walt Pierce. He has been drag racing since 1958. He runs a 250. He told me next year he is not going to run the circuit but just race local. He says at 81 he's slowing down a "little". I talk to Walt quite a bit and he has some great stories and a wealth of knowledge about 6 cly. racing.Wednesday afternoon I head for the PRI show in Indy for three days. I'm hoping to meet with a lot of the old timers down there. I'm sure it will be a humbling experience to see what the big boys are doing. I plan on picking out the rest of my dry sump system and get my distributorless ignition ordered. I'm meeting with Tom Lowe down there to possibly pick up the valve train for the 12 port cross flow head Tom is machining for me.
I would love to join you on that trip. I grew up around Drag Racing in Calif, used to listen to my Dads friends talk about Lyons and Fremont, hung on every word. My good friend and machinist Jim Bailey held the 1981 national record for the 250 CID class with a 69' Camero named "Slow Motion". Jim has been a great source of knowledge for me over the 30 plus years I've known him.
