Hello All,

I'm re-assembling my newly painted parts. I've assembled the splash aprons to the running boards, but am now questioning if there might be a correct order to place things on the truck. Presumed direction was:
1 - Splash apron to running board
2 - Cab to running board seal on cab
3 - Running board on frame
4 - Fender

Alternate would be Fender first, but I'm concerned about scratches from running board assembly. And what about running board on frame, then splash apron?

I've not done this before and am hoping to learn from someone else's experience.

Thanks in advance,

Bill

I think your order would be the way I'd do it.
But rear fender first would avoid having to slide the rear fender behind the curve at the rear or the already mounted running board. There is a bit of room between the front fenders and running boards if you already have them mounted, and if you don't have the front clip on, there would be lots of room to start the running boards forward of their final mount position.
Some wide masking tape on critical spots would be recommended to avoid chipping the paint.

Hi Bill,

I replaced my cab to running boards seals this past summer. I also had some loose and rusted hardware on the running boards to clean-up. I re-installed everything in the order you've identified; however, the rear fenders were not removed. There was 'just enough' room to re-assemble everything. Kevin's recommendation using tape would make sense with fresh paint.
