I'm looking for 2 piece Saddle Blanket seat covers for my 1954 Chev 3100 truck.
I have looked at several truck parts catalogs and Amazon. All seat covers I see are 1 piece.
I had these on my previous 1954 truck, but cannot find them now.

Anybody know where I can find the 2 piece saddle blanket seat covers?
I want to be able to remove the bench seat for access to the underneath without removing the seat cover.
Thanks

After I got a local quote of $650 for a reupholstered seat, I too searched for saddlemans. Rock Auto said they had some that would fit a '48 Chev.

There's no slot for a shotgun along the front but they do have the pouches for change and a parking pass.

Fit? They hung over in both directions and were 1-piece. And they were much thinner than my 25-year old saddlemans. I decided to buck it up and modified them.

I cut them length-wise, keeping the tightening loops with the back portion. I put grommets across the rear of the bottom section. I had painted the location of the grommet with contact cement to make the material stronger for the grommets.

I put the excess material of the seat on the passenger side and grommeted it too.

After stretching it all, it looks and sits real fine but I wonder how long they will last.

(I should take a pic of the passenger side to show how that looks.)

That doesn't look bad at all Wally. Good on you for making something work.

Nearly 30 years ago I made a 1-piece discount store seat cover work on my 55-1st seat. Like you I used the string ties to attach the upper section to the back cushion. I cut some slits for the hooks that go over the top rail (pipe) of the seat frame. I put the upper cushion in place and attached the bottom section of the cover to the bottom cushion with the attached ties. Then I took a length of clothesline rope and stretched it taut in the crack at the rear between the back and bottom cushions, and tied off each end. That held the cover in place. I could tilt the back cushion forward, but not remove it. Less than ideal, but it worked, and didn't look too bad.

Try Walmart. They have 2-piece saddle blanket covers.

Very nice! I wish I knew about Walmart's. I went to ours, though, and they didn't have those. If I find them at Walmart somewhere, I might just buy them because mine are thin and I don't know how long they'll last.
