1953 Chevy 3100 with 235 and original 3 speed transmission.
I'm getting the replacement engine ready for transplant into the truck and have installed the clutch cover and flywheel. I am installing a new clutch assembly and the instructions defer to the manufacturer for how much torque to apply to the bolts that mount the pressure plate to the flywheel. I've searched the shop manual, factory assembly manual and the restoration pack from GM and can not find a torque spec for those bolts anywhere.
So that's my question. What torque setting should I use when tightening down the bolts?
Thanks in advance. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 Crusing in the Passing Lane | | Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | Torque values are determined by bolt diameter, can be found on charts. Use a .375" drive ratchet, short handle, after one has twisted off a few bolts, one will get a feel.
