Tuck has been sitting 20 + Years couldn’t get it to start After a compression test I found low compression to be the culprit. #2&4 has 0 the rest had 30. Removed the head found the seats to be pounded and rusted out. Sending head in for a complete rebuild. Upon inspection of the engine #4 cylinder had a small patch of rust. A ball hone was used on the top 3/4 of the cylinder and it came out pretty good. Now the only other issue is I have 3 lifters with some galling on the cam face Dose any body know where I can get three new lifters? The same "milk can" solid lifters that work on 216's and 235's also fit GMC inline six engines of all sizes. Those are available on Ebay also. If any of your lifters are junk, so is the cam.

'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

Ask for a mild 3/4 cam grind. They seem to have a problem of losing camshafts on customers . I'd try , Oregon Cams http://www.oregoncamshaft.com/You'll need a full set of ( 12 ) " Chilled Iron Base " Lifters for your FORGED STEEL CAMSHAFT .No other look a likes will be metal to metal compatible . Stay away from any recently made lifters or made in china junk . On ebay , there's a full set of aftermarket lifters made way back when . They are made in the USA by a very good quality aftermarket company ' Wohlert's ' . They are old time aftermarket lifter replacements for the original GMC " Chilled Iron Based "....Lifters......GMC # 2194006 . Go to ebay & type in the search box..........2194006 A set of Wohlert's lifters will show up @ $150.00 for the set of ( 12 ) . I just had them ground a 261 cam for me and surface all my solid lifters, cost me $150. Be very careful on how you read the nay sayers on the internet. These guys have been in business doing good work all across america for at least 1/2 century. They know their stuff and I have 100% confidence in them. About 5 years ago, they moved their operation down the street 4 blocks. They had a lot to move and many cores and machines, sure I bet a few things got misplaced. If you are that worried, send your stuff to me and I'll personally take care of it. I live in the pacific northwest and never heard of Oregon Cams.
