points new and proper gap.vac advance working.
carb rebuilt clean fuel. vac advance working.
now it has a dead spot when increasing from idle
to about 700 rpm (will die) go past and is fine.
other than that engine runs pretty good.
put vac gauge on and adjusted carb screw.
is this possible a distributor advance prob ??
i have a 1961 engine i could take dist off to see ??
or could carb be causing it ??

That was a common problem on the mid-1950's Fords, but they had a flexible wire between the distributor housing and the points that would develop broken strands. The wire from the coil to the distributor on yours might have a similar problem.

vac advance arm while engine not running
should there be any ??
the 61 engine has a little slop also but runs fine.
will the 61 dist work on a 59 so i could swap ??

Have you readjusted the valves since the engine was rebuilt? It provides a little extra fuel when you step on the gas. Since you say it runs fine once you get past the dead spot, it would suggest that the ignition is working properly (unless someone slipped some Ford distributor guts in on you. Just pulling your good leg, Jerry  ). You can check the accelerator pump by looking down the throat of the carb while you goose the throttle, engine off. You should see some gas squirting. Carl
