DOES anybody make a 6 lug IFS ??? I'd rather not buy new 5 lug everything if we ever do this sort of thing. Can an IFS (mustang II type) be installed on our trucks w/out dropping the front end down?? rake. In other words, can the newly welded portion of the boxed frame get welded so as not to drop into the channel of the mustang II crossmember? How does that affect handling characteristics of the new mustang II ? If not then what is an acceptable lowering stance. I'd rather NOT drop it at all. Know of any?

'63 to '71 IFS can be adapted to a '51. It generally does not drop a truck at all.
The process is basically the same as using a '72 to '87 to get 5-lug with disk brakes, but using the earlier 6-lug drum brake stuff. I imagine there is a 6-lug disk conversion for the earlier IFS too, though I don't know that with certainty.

It's the best thing since sliced bread. Both 5 & 6 lug rotors are available, brakes are big, and it's a truck font end. Once you buy the crossmsmber the rest is a pick-a-part purchase for next to nothing. I don't know if it's available for all years but a call to Steve will at I C will get you the answer.
