For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 41 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 41 | New to this so help would be appreciated. I have a 62 c-30 with two piece rims made for tube type tires. Has 16x6 rims now. 8x6.5 hole pilot hub with 1/2 studs I think. Is there a wheel i can bolt up the this with out any adaptation. What years and what kind of lug nut would be needed. Can I use a Bud type nut and wheel with a pilot hub. Help please:)

All the wheels I have ever seen for one ton dual application have been hub pilot wheels, Budd wheels are stud pilot wheels used on larger trucks from a few years ago. There are many types of wheels that can work for your truck. We need you to tell us if you want tube type wheels or tubeless wheels, then what diameter wheels you would prefer as many choices are available. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 41 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 41 | Thanks a lot for your help. You are right that they are hub piloted wheels but if you go into a parts house looking for those type of lug nuts they look at you like you have two heads with horns:) I want 16 inch wheels. I would like to run tubeless wheels. I actually bought some new production 7.50x16 thinking I would use the old wheels but they are very rusted. Come to find out the new tires are tubeless, Made in Thailand. I was using a slag hammer to remove chunks of rust and went through the wheel. The used wheels I have looked at have much larger lug bolt holes. Not sure what size they are but the old ones are 1/2 inch. for the half inch stud.. I would run the tube type wheels if i have to but aren't they the split or two piece wheel. Thanks for the help. BTW FYI I own a 61 k-10 Step side. This 62 c-30 a 65 c-20 mostly for parts and a K-20. A 52 GMC I think it is a 100. And a 57 GMC that has 350 in the grille with a 270 CID I think. So I might be on here a lot.

One of the things people will need to know is the diameter of the center hole required, this is a critical dimension as these are hub piloted wheels. I can't remember that dimension off the top of my head, you will have to measure your hubs and include that dimension in your search information, good luck
