2. How wide is the belt?
3. Please tell us what is wrong with the setup now, exactly.
You can't really be sure what pulley until you measure the belt. Measure the ID (bore) and OD of the pulley also.
As mentioned by Carl, I would buy locally. If you are positive about all the dimensions and what alternator you have, you could order online, but risky.

The pulley on the water pump and the balancer is for 1/2 inch belt.The 1/2 inch belt fills the balancer and water pump pulley and rides high on the alternator pulley.I ordered a pulley from a vendor on here.
Trying to get ready for Cruisin The Coast in two weeks, this will be the tenth year the truck has made the trip.

My replacement pulley the depth was off enough to cause the belt to bottom out.
I cut the bottom .125” and all was good. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 | Generator and alternator pulleys are a direct swap out but one must use the separate alternator fan and the correct spacers to align and put the right "pinch" on the fan.

I thought about that but the pulley and fan on the generator seemed to be spot welded together. I succeeded in destroying the fan so i ordered a pulley that will fit.
