I've been lurking for a while, but after reading so many good tips i decided to jump in. I don't own a Chevy truck, but I do own two Chevy cars with sixes. A '46 Coupe with a '61 235, and a '50 Fleetline with a 216. I hope to be an asset to the group.

Welcome to the Stovebolt madness. There is no cure! Since you have acknowledged that this is a TRUCK site we’ll forgive you for having cars. There are some (myself included) who believe that we don’t talk cars, while there are others who don’t care. If you need help with your Stovebolt motors go ahead and post in the Engine Forum, just leave out reference to cars. We’re really nice folks but are definitely truck snobs, we’ll at least some of us are. shake

Welcome to the 'bolt. The electrical bay is pretty much the same. Try not to reference that you are working on a "car", since much of the basics are the same. Just keep in mind that most are thinking trucks. Feel free to send a PM to get sent in the right direction.

Another ridgerunner- - - - -great news! I'm quite a bit southwest, just above Huntsville Alabama, but I get to the Knoxville area on business frequently. Currently, I'm working out the logistics involved in building a 266 cubic inch stovebolt engine with modern internal parts that looks like a 216 from the outside. Fun stuff!

Thanks for all the positive feed back. I used to own a '58 fleetside, bone stock old rusty farm truck with 235. Does that earn me any brownie points? wink

Hey great to hear someone else still owns old cars too. I thought I was out here all by myself.. I drive a 51 Chevy 2dr sdn with a 261, 235 head, splits, 12 volt with a generator, Pertronix ignition, (which no one likes but me, lol). 3 on the tree, tube shaft with 3.55s out of an automatic car. I can go on all day. I have a ton of parts to boot. Im also putting together "Frankintruck" which is a 66 c20 body on a 63 GMC 1 ton chassis. Seems like everything I touch, I have to touch it 3 more times to get it figured out. Welcome to the site. Im rather new here also. Learned a lot already. Seems to be aton of knowledge all over this place. Nice guys to boot...᠁᠁᠁.

Hey Rusty, Welcome to stovebolt. I am using a Chevrolet '56 235 out of a car in my '48 Chevrolet 3100 pick-up and plan to use a Chevrolet '57 235 out of a car in my '52 Chevrolet Suburban. We should meet up when I come to Knoxville. My son is in engineering at UT. Send me a Private Message (PM) with your contact information. Thanks. V/r, Nick
