I am installing a complete new wiring harness in my 1954 Chevrolet 1/2 Ton. (Part# 52-025 from Classic Parts) So far so good, but now trying to figure out how to wire the tail lamps. Need to figure out how to hook up the new harness to the tail lamps. The new harness going to the tail lamps has 4 wires. Purple Wire(10) for "Tail Lamps", Pink Wire(31) for "Left Turn Signal", Purple Wire(32) "Right Turn Signal", and White Wire(22) for "Stop Lamps". (I will also be installing a universal turn signal switch assembly (Part# 53-551)) It sounds like for my application I will not be using the White Wire(22) for "Stop Lamps", so that leaves me with 3 wires to figure out how to connect to the tail lamps. Both the tail lamp assemblies have a Black and Yellow wire coming out of them. Can someone explain how I hook up the 3 new harness wires to the 4 tail lamp wires (2 black and 2 yellow)?

Thank you for any help you can provide!

Sounds like you will have to do it by trial and error. Hook the #10 wire to the yellow wire temporarily and turn on the lights. Switch the #10 wire to the black wire. It should be obvious which is the running light wire (yellow or black) so you can permanently wire the system.

The original wiring was for one lamp only. So that when you had turn signal on, both rears would blink. They split the wiring as best I can recall and let the turn signal switch operate one or both as needed. It took me awhile to wrap my head around it and I did as Gord mentioned, used jumper wires with alligator clips to sort it all out before I made permanent connections.
