To all my 3600 3/4 ton friends and whoever else would know.
I’m looking for the emergency brake guts you’d find in the rear wheel of a 53 Chevy 3600 3/4 ton.
Anyone know the part numbers to find them and where? And a how to, to put it all back in place in the wheel?

It is always a good idea if an assembly looks complicated to do one side at a time, always have the other one as an example.

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

Yes you are correct!!! But when the truck never had any e brake guts in the wheels to begin with,
Well there ya go!
Still trying to find the parts to the puzzle and I’m not having any luck!

I'll be taking my 3600 rear brake assembly apart very soon and when I do I'll get some pictures for you. Maybe we can figure it out together

Here's the part #'s for the Parking Brake Levers .

I've searched the entire country high & low & ebay since 2007 and they can't be found GM NOS .

I've never seen them on ebay in nos condition & I check ebay ever other day for years .

They were discontinued by GM in ( dec. 1971 ) , that's ( 48 ) years ago .

Donor Levers MUST come from a single wheel axle without a propeller shaft brake .

It's a parking brake that is mounted on the drive shaft behind the tranny, instead of engaging the rear drums.

Thanks George for that tid bit of info. I guess I won’t be looking for the levers on line since they stopped making them in 1971!

I found the passenger side parking brake parts in my parts tote box, I didn't know I had. Just need the drivers side Lever. I'm going to go to a junk yard in Camp Douglas Wi next week on my week of vacation to go to the largest old car and truck junk yard in the midwest. Wish me luck!!
