Do a search on this site for finding top dead center using the "positive stop" method of marking the pulley. I've written it up numerous times. You could also send me a private message and I'll share a phone number and try to walk you through the procedure. I'm a little tired of explaining it repeatedly with a keyboard!

If it is timing, it is just another example of how many carbs have been rebuilt because of ignition problems. Always start with the basics first when one obtains a new/old vehicle. Dont take for granted point gap, spark plugs/valve adjustment and ignition timing, do the easy non invasive things first then ramp up your diagnostics after that.

Steve...Makes perfect sense to analyse & diagnose.....I jumped the gun when I got it to run at 1/2 choke...I immediately went for the carb.....
