For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2019 Posts: 559 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2019 Posts: 559 | Ive been searching around about converting my 3/4t truck to dual master for saftey and when i called jim carter they said they didnt have a specific listing for 3/4 or 1/2t so they should be the same. From what very little ive actually found on thr subject it says the 1/2t is a 1” bore and the 3/4t is a 1.25” bore. Has anyone used this HP-415 master on a 3/4 ton setup? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy Barnfind49, welcome, please remember to tell us the year and size of your truck. When you quote part numbers please tell us who's part numbers they are. If all you are going to do is upgrade to a dual master cylinder then do not go smaller than the original master cylinders bore, If you are planning a disc brake upgrade in the future then a different master cylinder should be installed now with residual pressure valves installed in the line to the front brakes which can be removed when you install the disc brakes, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2019 Posts: 559 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2019 Posts: 559 | 1949 gmc 150. The part number is a jim carter number. Im staying with manual drum brakes but just simply goin to a dual reservoir master. | | |
