I have just bought a 1941 Chevy w/ GMC 228, w/Zenith carb. There is a hand throttle cable in the cab but no fittings or linkage that I can see on carb. Previous owner has no info. Where can I find the right fittings and bracket/linkage to hook it up?
This may help syou a little. It is a 1946 Carter set-up.
You could contact this fellow and see if he can help with the set-up & brackets. Larry Isgro Carburetors Inc 1604 Argyle Rd, Wantagh, NY 11793 (516) 783-1041
Larry Isgro is a good and reliable carburetor re-builder. He is also a very friendly and helpful fellow to talk with (if he has time to talk).
I was going to post a photo of my '38 but Harold did that for me. My how images travel once you post them on the old interweb. The image Harold posted on the far left of the viewer is of my '38. I don't know how/if it translates to your '41.

Tiny, I have had the photo of your 38 in my files since I rebuilt my 46. Did not know who it came from. I used it as a reference to set my cables up. I see my photos from time to time. I guess that is what makes the Forum such a wonderful data base of knowledge. Harold
Sometime later on (I don't know when) the large hole in the linkage went away and the wire passed through a small hole in the throttle rod with a cable stop holding it in place. I don't have a photo showing that linkage set up. You can get a cable stop anywhere mower parts are sold. I'm sure someone has a photo that will be helpful to you. Harold's last photo kind of shows it but from the wrong angle to show the actual connection.

Ronsway, there is a large group of aftermarket companies that specialize in reproduction parts for these old trucks. Google antique truck parts and follow the leads. If looking for an original, post an ad in our Swap Meet Forum under the Parts Wanted sub-forum.ðŸ›
