I'm trying to install the corner glass in my 53 one ton, and having a rough time of it. I tried to install the rubber channel ont the pinch weld, but I can't get it to stay in place. I started in the middle of the top edge, but it keeps falling out. Should I start in the middle of the bottom edge? And it's tricky around the corners.

I've seen several different suggestions on how to do this, some with the rubber in the frame first then put the glass in, some with putting the rubber around the glass then pulling it in with string (like I did the windshield. Some suggested warming the rubber in a bucket of warm water to soften it and make it more pliable, but it's 95 here now, which I figure is warm enough! Most of waht I've found deals with installing the windshield, or the back window, very little info on the corner glass.

If anyone has hints or tips I'd like to hear them.

Here's a video on installing the corner glass. Like they said, using a soft and supple seal is paramount (Steele Rubber Products). I also found that taping the seal in place first really helps, and using lotsa sudsy foam glass spray for lubricant.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately everything I've seen shows the rubber in position on the pinch welds, then the glass already installed and the locking strip going in.

I'm wondering if I need to get better rubber? Everyone seems to like/prefer the Steele rubber. Mine os from Carter, and seems awfully stiff to me. Perhaps I should order a set from Steele and see if that makes things easier.
