I have a 51 chev 1/2 ton.
a friend has an "old" camaro he is willing to
donate.
what parts if any could i use.
for modifications. like sub frame ect.
what year does it need to be
it would be nice to be able to drive on the

Hey redd-hows it goin'? In answer to your question, it depends what year that Camaro is. If it is a second generation car (1970-81), you're in luck. You will at least get the good width rear axle, as well as a useable engine/transmission. Camaro subframes aren't "usually" considered the hot ticket for an AD style truck, cause the track width is too wide. I know that several have done this swap (Ken here at Stovebolt is one) maybe someone will chime in with input or links. Subframing is a big project-excellent welding skills are a MUST! You also need to do your measuring carefully for the clip to line up properly. Hopefully others will post about their experiences. Good luck with your project, keep us posted on progress.

On my 51 I used a 78 Camaro.I used the subframe,steering column,rearend and the wiring harness.Be sure to save the brake booster swingpedal etc... .You can see my project so far at http://www.picturetrail.com/truckrodder
