Excuse the off brands if you will, but this amount of old iron has to get you all aroused. Particularly like the GMC COE. Steve

Cool stuff! Gotta be somewhere in farm country (great plains?) No mountains in the background and a farm implement at the right.

I believe it to be in Grande Prairie, Alberta, so yes the tippy top of the great plains

I , too, alone , and with my family as they grew up, have driven by countless times and never turned off in Sprague. Very interesting to see these old trucks. This is interesting country out there. Originally settled and dryland farmed for wheat, it is an interspersal of rich farm land and stretches of scab land, washed out by glacial age floods. I have seen farmers in the region still delivering grain to the silos in old 50’s grain trucks, Gm’s, to this day! They don’t get a lot of miles put on them, so they last ! Dry there too. Wally, and others, I have taken to traveling alternate highways to the north on my seasonal peregrinations to and from the coast. Very rewarding, even if it adds a day to the trip!

I can not remember the state but it was someplace close to N/S Dakota. When I first started my quest for an AD I looked at Ebay. I did not win a bid I had place but through some communications ended up speaking to the person who posted the truck. He owned a car dealership he took over from his father. He was a muscle car guy but his dad loved Chevy trucks. He had several trucks listed on ebay at the time. All of them untouched as far as restoration attempts but most were very good starter projects and they all ran and could be driven. He told me over the last 40 years his father had purchased every truck he came across to save it from the scrap pile. Most of those were bought before the popularity of the vintage trucks. He indicated his father was getting advanced in years and he had convinced him to start letting some of his massive 700+ truck collection go. I am skeptical on the number but he said they owned a large farm where his father built a massive warehouse for all the trucks. He did share one picture with me that showed a couple hundred trucks. That was 2 years ago. I have been trying to find the guy ever since. I lost his contact information and can't remember the name of the dealership. I did visit the dealership website at the time and it had a show room all decked out in vintage neon and classic muscle cars and Chevy trucks. I anticipate if the guy was even telling me a half truth at some point when his elderly father passes we will here of a massive estate sale full of vintage trucks.

I don't think so, but the fact this guy collected over 500 cars and trucks adds a little credit to the guy I spoke to. I talked to him in 2016 and his father was still alive and his collection was all trucks.
Very cool picture. They all would be in much worse shape if stored outdoors here in the Midwest. GMC, Ford, Chevy, International and Dodge. Maybe others. I didn't see any Studebakers, Diamond T's or REO's. I wish that place was close to me.
...could the reason they are still there is the crazy money asked for them...if not, we need to convoy there and relieve them of a few of them......Truck and trailer convoy. I can see it now.
incase anyone is interested about that location in Sprague, i stopped in last week or so and inquired... all those trucks are for sale! owner is Dave PM me for the contact information, (i don't want to put it on the public Google searchable parts of the forum)
also in this town is a collection of 20s-30s Dodge and some fords for sale by another person, who is also Dave (different last name). second Dave also has other old vehicles for sale and is parting out on ebay as well, he would be a good contact for any truck parts too he will ship big things, hoods, body parts, etc. i spoke to this second Dave's business partner in town, she gave me all this good info and both Dave contact numbers.
You beat me to the punch. I stopped by Sprague a couple weeks ago and took a ton of pics that I hadn't got around to posting yet. It was late in the day and wasn't able to make contact with anyone, but I suspected they were connected with the body shop across the street. Most of the stuff was larger (1-1/2 Ton +), but there were some that were in nice shape body-wise. There were also a large group of cars on the West end of town, including some really old stuff including this relatively complete Studebaker sedan. Neat stuff for sure.
