Vaughn,Don't you have a c.o.e. with a Caddie in it? I have a 77 C50 with a wore out 350 and a 3 sp. Allison that is used to pull a 25000# gooseneck, would the 500 ci bolt to the Allison? Thanks for any help on this........J.D.Poole

I went to the "old car retirment yard" yesterday, but they have no 500's. They had (2) 425's but notta on the big boy. Guess I'll have to keep looking. Whats your opinion on a 1982- 425.? what kinda specs. on it? Not what I really want, and I've never been one to settle, but I can always keep it a distant option..

Mjr Crash, The 425 is an option but for specs i do not have any. the 500's I have found are usually in caddy's in peoples back yards or Granny's driveway. Use a wrecking yard that has a computer locator service, this has also helped in the past. Now a question for you and Martinsr.
I see all these terms used and was wondering if somebody could clarify them.
Chopped-refers to dropping the roof line, right!
Shaved-refers to removing of door handles etc??
Sectioned ????
I have also heard of a term or process to "Z" the
frame? I believe that was what they called it.

Bullfoot, I just realized that you live in Cottage Grove, Oregon. I got in lots of trouble there once. Pulled the Suburban into the Pacific Pride for some fuel and saw they offered 104 octane Moose Juice. As Pacific Prides do not putt the price on their fuel, I filled up
You know I pulled the the rest of the way north on I-5 with a trailer and that 472 just sang beautiful, into a head wind no less. The power was wonderful, then I got the bill at the end of the month. $3.50 per gallon That fill cost me over 100.00. I would have said it was worth it, then the Mrs. saw the bill :mad: .
Needless to say I don't get to buy AVfuel anymore.

Ric, sectioning is taking some out of the middle of the body thereby making it slimmer in height. Z-ing the frame is putting a step in it, like a backward Z. Your right on chopped top and shaving.
