I have a set of AD front bumper brackets that tilt the bumper back at the top slightly. The brackets appear to be OEM, are identical left and right, and show no evidence of ever being bent or damaged. I know many '54 parts are slightly different than earlier AD models; could these be 54-55.1 units? If not, what are they? I need to know the application and why they are slightly different than normal brackets. They're kinda cool if you want your front bumper low; you can let them droop and still have the bumper vertical.

Here are some pics. Note how the front is higher. The last pic shows one alongside a standard bracket to see the subtle difference. No way are they just bent; they're too perfect and identical to have ever been bent. Was this just a manufacturing variation?

They might be rear bumper brackets for a panel or suburban. The curve of the panel/suburban rear bumpers are bent similar to front bumpers (More curve to them than pickup rear bumpers.)

Front and rear 47-55st 1/2 ton panel-body bumpers are the same.

The mounting brackets are different.

So what does he have in his pictures? Rear panel brackets, or something else entirely?

My guess is rear panel-body brackets.

I'd have to have them in front of me to confirm 47-55st panel body brackets.
