For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | | Anonymous Unregistered | | Anonymous Unregistered | I am building a 54 3100 with a 350/350 combination and am interested in other radiator options. Are there any other standard 3-4 row radiators with the same general dimensions as the original that can be made to work well? I have heard of using the early F--d Mustang radiator but would like to hear from others who have solved the V8/auto trans cooling issues. I know I can spend $$ for a desert cooler and may have to but simpler and more cost effective options are always being found by others. Would rather not have to cut into the inner fenders to make it fit. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 259 Member | | Member Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 259 | The easiest solution with no cutting involved was to install the 4-core triple flow "Desert Cooler".

I'm planning on using the Burb(when it's finished)as a tow vehicle and cooling was a major consideration. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 66 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 66 | I saw a guy use a late model cross flow rad turned vertical in a 38 at a meet.He says he has put thousands of miles on it without a problem, he had a local rad shop rework the tanks to accomodate the hose posistions.I was thinking about using this idea as it seems a cheap alternative to buying a custom one.I started a new career and the budget for the truck has been reduced big time so anything that i can do cheaper works for me. Let me know your thoughts about this setup..... Thanks, Dale
