I don't seem to get on here much these days though I still drive my 61 GMC half ton, but again I find myself working on a friend's 62 half ton chev. this time he told me his glass wasn't staying rolled up good and he thought it needed new channels. I ordered a set and when I got the truck over here it seems they are in good shape having been replaced when it was restord. I found several bolts missing that hold the regulator assembly in the door.I'm hoping putting that back will fix it as I dread trying to get the wing window side out just to change what looks like good felt channels.it probably wouldn't help his problem. though the passenger side wing doesn't open and I may very well have to work on it

Skelflyer: see this link below. We covered this a few months back on the AD trucks. I’m guessing your problem involves the same part, although I can’t be sure the PN would be the same on a 62. Good luck, Dave

Thank you, I don't believe the spring is broken on this one- I had it diss connected from the window and it definitely has tension on the arm. but very worn I know. if I end up needing to replace the unit- I'm thinking I'd have to remove the front window channel along with the wing window to get the mechanism out. is that correct? also I have used several parts from LMC and while most have been serviceable I can't say that some weer near OEM quality.is there a better source for something like the window regulator mechanism?

Used window regulators will work. May need to recondition or use 2 to make 1, but there is plenty of inventory. I do believe you will have to remove glass and vent window before regulator. At least, you may be happier to remove so you dont scratch or break anything. Not real hard to remove to glass and vent window.
