Who/whom are the best windshield and rear cab glass vendors out there for these old girls? Not looking for date coded glass. Prefer a tint bar...smoke glass as well. Also, is everybody in agreement that SoffSeal is the preferred rubber?

Windshield is Bob's Classic Auto Glass in Oregon. No shipping. Pick up at your local Pilkington. Rubber: as Tim says. Steele the best, SoffSeal used by many. Bob's can supply Steele Rubber at a reasonable price when you buy glass. Side glass, back glass: Classic Trucks of America and any other top vendor. Bob's may have a complete set.
Isn't the durometer number a high priority consideration when a pliable and conforming compound is key when glass meets rubber and rubber meets pinch weld...especially with the number of tight radiuses in these cabs. What is it about Steele products that stands out above others?
Durometer does not have much to do with a windshield seal. Durometer is more of an interest in clamped gasket seals, flat gaskets, orings and such. The windshield seal is a overlap flap and groove seal. Almost a static "sweep" seal. Watershed kind of thing. There is no mechanical compression/clamping. Obviously the seals can't be rock hard or spongy soft. The dimensional stability yielded from the mold will make the product fit better. The quality of the rubber will make it last longer. Those are the main factors regarding off shore vs USA.
I recently checked out a local glass company to cut my glass from templates. Received a quote of $250. for windshield (2 pieces) and rear window. Checked other places but the shipping was outrageous. Read a post online here and placed an order with Summit Racing. Shipping was free with an additional charge due to the large package size. Arrived undamaged, well packaged via UPS. Can't wait to see how they fit. Total for the 3 pieces of glass was $154.42 tax included.
another option for glass is you can bring an old broken one to your local window/glass shop and have them "cut to pattern" i got new windshields and door glass made this way from a sample of the old ones my local shop could offer any type of glass i wanted in 6 mm thickness, original non safety glass for side windows or tempered glass, laminated safety glass for windshield each piece they cut and ground the curves and charged about $50 CAD (under 40 USD each) also they had a few light tint options as well, but i wanted clear
6 mm is a tiny bit thicker than the original glass, but it installed no problem -s
oh yeah you maybe right, is the door glass is thicker compared to the windshield?
i got everything made in 6mm, the windshield rubber looked to be a bit stretched open because it seemed to be designed for a slightly thinner than 6mm glass that's why i figured 6mm was thicker than original, but perhaps it is just that the rubbers i got are not exactly like original? -s
attached some pics of the windshield going in, i wish i had a better photo of the tool i made to pull on the rubber, but it's nothing fancy, just has a rounded 90 degree tip about 3/16 inch long the green tape was to keep the RTV silicon from messing up on the glass as i pumped a bead between the glass and rubber and rubber to cab body all around the outside -s
I just know side glass on TF was .250 originally. 6mm is .236. TF windshields are molded curved. Not flat glass. I don't believe any AD would have been thinner than .250 and would not have been metric.
okay makes sense about the thickness, i wouldn't expect it to be metric i'm not too worried about losing strength, the windshield is laminated and the other windows are easy enough to replace -s
