My upholstery guy doesn't care what profile a bed has, he just makes a cover.

I like that. I was curious if it's easy to open the corner to put stuff in, or do you need to undo a bunch of snaps?

here is one you don't have to drill any holes.

coilover, are those Lincoln/Thunderbird wheels from the 70s? They look great! Nice truck.

mick53, the support rails have to mount to the bed sides someway. Aren't they screwed in place? Wonder how weather proof that cover is? Looks great too.

I don't know anything about this cover. It says no drilling or paint damage, maybe a peal and stick? We just put peal and stick tile on a 54 million dollar construction project. we had to move a couple of walls due to changes and I was amazed how hard it was for my tile guys to get it up. It has come a long ways.

The company is in the UK (of Great Britain).

• Address - Enterprise House, Strathmore Road, Rowlands Gill, Tyne and Wear, NE39 1HZ UK
• Telephone - +44 (0) 1207 544664 and then option 1

They are very emphatic about no drilling needed, but, no instructions are provided: "Zero impact. It can be fitted without drilling any holes in the truck. All paint work protected."

No email address is given. Here is a page for submitting inquiries.

If anyone obtains attachment/installation info, please post it in this thread.

Peal & Stick would be my guess, too, mick53

There must be a "release" agent/chemical to remove it in the future?

This GMC sits on a shortened and narrowed 1974 Cadillac Sedan DeVille chassis and belongs to a very large (63 crews) plumbing company owner, now retired. He carried blueprints for the various jobs in the box so it must not have leaked much. The cover has four bows so blueprints could be spread out on it to read. The snaps on the left side and tail gate were used daily so they were easy to work but the ones on the right side were a bear to unsnap. These pictures were taken when the truck had probably close to 250k miles on it. The wheels are 5 on 5 Lincoln---same bolt pattern as a Cadillac. He wore out the original 472 engine, had it overhauled, wore out again and now has a fresh 500 engine in it.

Here's what I did with my '53 box. The Gaylord Lids cover is fibreglas with 2 air struts and locks. Very happy with it. Almost 6 years old on my daily driver and still perfect. Watertight. I bought mine in primer and had it sprayed satin black. Here's a link to the company's page: http://www.gaylordslids.com/showroom/showroom/chevy-gmc-1947-1953-stepside-short-bed/
Cheers.
