On the old style glass fuel bowl/filer, how high does the gas get in normal operation? I say about 3/4 full, my buddy helping me says right to the top of the glass bowl is ok. Who buys who a cup of coffee? Thanks.

1952 216CID. Fuel in mine sits level with the top/edge of the wire mesh filter under the glass.

I've never seen one full in any type of vehicle.

When I started the motor for the first time it had a two barrel 2GC, the fuel was around 1/2 or little more full. Changed to a 4bbl Carter WCFB. First thing that happened was the aluminum plugs fell out. Took Hotrod’s suggestion and drove 00 lead shot into all four holes. Now gas goes to top of bowl till it starts dripping gas. Unsure of jetting as carb is off an early ‘vette and the jet number vs size must be a closely guarded secret from Carter as I can find no reference to figure out what jets it has. I know about using drill bits. Thanks.

My motor is a 283 with a 2GC, fuel in the filter is solid liquid to the top. Is fuel dripping out of the filter or the carb?
