I have a 66 lcf 60 series and need a source for front axle bearings and seals, trouble reading script on outer bearing, wondering if someone could please help, what I have is working so I am reluctant to pull seals out without known source. Thanks

Hy Pat66, welcome, heavy trucks such as yours could be equipped with a few different front axles based on their carrying capacity. If you could tell us a bit more about your truck we may be able to figure out which weight capacity axle you have, wheel type, tire size. Or you could wire brush your front axle and see if you can find any forging numbers on it, hope that helps.

Years ago a company called Detroit Ball and Bearing could match any bearing and seal based on dimensions, I don't know if something exists near you but my next choice is NAPA or an old time auto parts store that still has catalogs under the counter. I just did a search and it looks like Detroit Ball Bearing is still in business.

Hy Pat66, I think the number you have given us from the axle is one digit short, the closest part number I can find is 3852520. That axle is a 5000 lb. axle, the o.e.m. p/n for the inner bearing assembly is 9418273 which translates to Timken/Bower p/n 3578A - 3525, the o.e.m. part number for the outer bearing is 457043 which translates to Timken/Bower 15103S - 15243, I hope this helps.
