If so, check out www.classictruckshop.com They have a reasonably good article concerning just this swap. They used a commercially available kit to install later model ('73-'89) GM full size 1/2 ton steering box on their AD 1/2 ton. Just check the "tech articles" section on the left side of the screen. I believe this kit is available from most of the major parts vendors, prices range from $95-$125 U.S. Hopefully you will find some more of the information there that you are looking for. Are you wanting to change your steering out because of an engine swap? If you've put a V-8 in there, you can just space the stock box about 1 1/2" out from the frame using seamless steel tubing, longer Grade 8 bolts and a piece of steel plate. then you heat the pitman arm and bend it in slightly to bring it back to its stock distance from the frame. Just thought this might be another option for you. Regards, Wannabe
