2-blade fans were pretty common in the 1920's and early 30's, particularly on Ford Model T's and Model A's. Yours is most likely half of a 4-blade fan that was disassembled for some reason- - - - -maybe one blade segment was broken or bent and was discarded. Jerry

I had a fan like that throw one blade on a road trip once. Then it was terribly out of balance with three. Good thing I had a hacksaw under the seat to turn it into a two bladed fan and get back on the road. It didn’t cool well enough for the summer heat in California and later that day we found another old 4 blade fan to install.
My wife had a 71 Pinto with a two bladed fan which was way too much fan. Engine would never make enough heat for heater to work so I removed fan completely for winter driving plus blocked radiator with cardboard. Still needed coat to be comfortable heat wise. It had the 2.0 four banger engine and after a stop and go drive from downtown Dallas ( about 20 miles) I could remove radiator cap and stick my finger in the coolant. End of story on one that ran too cool but if you want to hear stories on ones that run hot--------pull up a chair. A search for "1971 Pinto" shows an orange one filmed by Dan the Cameraman that has a two bladed fan which is 6 inches from the radiator and no shroud.
