smile howziit Classic Finn!

dollar-for-dollar, you can't beat an auto manufacturer's tilt-steering column, as well as the thousands of quality OEM parts on almost any automobile.

not familiar with your truck, you probably need to measure, from where your hands and feet will be, while sitting/driving. measure from steering wheel to dash, to floorboard, to steering box. it would be easier to start with a steering column that fits your measure, instead of having to lengthen or shorten it, to fit your needs.

you could probably fit a european tilt column in there, bolt it under the dash, and modify to connect to your steering box.(more easily available to you.)

i would love to have a corvette tilt/telescopic column, in THE PINK LADY. they can be found at www.ebaymotors.com or [email protected]

camaro/firebird columns fit well, too, and can be found at very reasonable prices. i have a 1977 camaro tilt column in my 1956 chevy truck. i did a major overhaul on the top half, which cost me about $100 in parts. i will probably change the steering column to 1990-up camaro/firebird, if i have problems with it later(genuine parts no longer available, not even reproduced.)

not sure if chevrolet S10 steering columns fit, but there is a 1998 model tilt column, which can be bought outright for THIRTY DOLLARS($30.00)!! on ebay, as we speak. that is an incredible bargain!

most columns weigh about 12 pounds(say 18 pounds shipping weight), measure about 36"(guessing), so you can factor in shipping.

JMO, i would not even consider aftermarket steering columns(even shiny ones), as long as tilt steering columns are such good bargains.

Classic Finn,
you should be able to get a chrome grill for your 46 from Jim Carter's.
