Got a 1950 228 GMC engine and I'm wondering what I can get out there in the way of speed equipment. I've got Patrick's catalogue and see some items listed but I am wondering if any of you guys out there have anything, or any tricks, etc??

With a week gone by and no answers you might think you should have showered first.

I don't have a good answer for you and I suspect that's why no one else has responded either. I've not heard of anyone hot rodding a 228 or 248 since the 270 and 302s are enough bigger to make a big difference, and they aren't that hard to find.

As far as I know the external parts that fit the bigger jimmy motors will also fit your 228, but really I'm only guessing.

I'd watch ebay if I were serious about finding GMC performance stuff, but I'd expect it to be old and expensive.

I'm not sure, but Clifford's might make some things, and I've heard that Offenhauser can make any item that they have ever made, if you're willing to wait for them to get around to it.

I was hoping someone would come up with a good answer. As far as I can find Patrick is the only one selling new stuff unless you want to put a Wayne's 12 port on it.
