Working on my 1929 and trying to find a shop that can straighten and reshape my front bumper back to factory. I have a template from a friend who had his redone. Been to local spring shops, fab shops etc, no luck. no one wants to mess with it. trying to find someone with skill and interest in doing this preferably with out HEAT, since they are spring steel.
a few pictures below of what mine looks like and one of what it should look like.
need to get the bracket shaped correctly then re arc the cross bars to fit. once that is done i wll blast prime paint the bracket, and send out the crossbars for chrome.

My '37 Chevy truck project came without the original bumpers. A fellow stovebolter gave me a bumper that was resting outside in the dirt. Turned out it had a slight bend in it. I took the rusty crusty bumper to Royal Plating in Tucson, AZ (https://www.royalplating.com/). They heated the bumper since it is spring steel, straightened it, and then polished and plated it. It came back looking beautiful. They said they had the proper pattern for it.
I know you are a long way from Tucson but perhaps you can find a similar shop nearer you. Kent
talked to several platers and none of them can or know anyone that would bend or straighten
talked to many spring shops, job shops, metal shops, no go
seems like no one wants to do the small side jobs, they all want the BIG MONEY JOBS.
