Think of it as an eraser stick and use acetone on it to remove the paint from the high spots as soon as the new paint becomes tacky. I would do it twice, once after the primer and then again after the final paint.

You will not hurt the side of the horn button with a screwdriver. More are concerned with putting small dents into the edge of the steering wheel next to the button. The tabs are approximately in the
2 o'clock, 6 o'clock & 10 o'clock positions as you look at the button. I would apply pressure in those three areas. Once you remove the button you will see the three mating tabs on the internal button.

Do you think that's why the three tabs are there - as like the prying points? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,441 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,441 | Wow, I can’t believe we’re into 2 pages on removing a horn button. Just get your screwdriver and do it like all of us have done. It’s not rocket science. Take it off and move on. Speaking of moving on, that’s what we are going to do with this thread.
