The stock 4 speed trans has a PTO bolted to the drivers side of it... I am lookin for some clever suggestions as to what we could power with the PTO setup? It is lowered 4” with Sids front axle and 2”motion lowering springs in front. Removed 9 of the 14 leaves in back... Sits pretty low and we love the stance. We threw on a set of rollers we had around the shop. Gonna try to post a pic... 1952 GMC model 473 dump truck 1951 Chevy 1500 stepside

Ed '37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires. '47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle. '54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed. '55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

I don't believe the PTO is designed to run all the time, or at higher speeds (I could be completely wrong though) so, just keep that in mind. If you just want to run the compressor in case you get a flat or something, that is probably fine but, I am not sure I would want it running while going down the road. Wally / Montana 'Bolter W Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,904 The Last Best Place	My '48 had a PTO knob in the cab when I bought it and I quickly looked underneath. The workings weren't there. Dang. I was thinking of a big ice cream maker. About 20 years ago I attended an estate auction. The deceased had gathered a big wooden box full of PTO's. The box was on a shipping pallet and would take a fork lift to load it in a truck. I had a firm commitment elsewhere and could not stay for the bidding on the PTO's. (I should have broken the commitment.) There was also a big wooden box full of old carbs. That one still really gets me. 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.

I am aware of the operation of PTO and that they are meant to be used while not in motion. Just want a clever way to put it to use..... Occasionally.
