So Y'all've made it apparent that you don't care about my brakes. But I've finished installing then and got a good feeling. So I'll so them to ya anyway.

One of those pictures was supposed to be the rear axle.

I’m interested. Is that Tahoe or Silverado calipers?

Looks great to me! I have a 3600 that I am looking for brake options....

Sid’s Dropped Axles has a kit now. Looks to be late model rotors with 70’s/80’s K10 calipers.

Check Parts for Sale in the Swap Meet for SIDS address.

If anyone does an install on Sid's disc brake kit, please report back to the forum on how it went.

I'm guessing the pictures in the original post are from the kit previously offered by the Hollister Road Company?
They used calipers from a late rmodel GM 1 ton I believe. They are more robust calipers than 1/2 ton stuff from the 70's.

I'd like to again see a ready made kit that uses the large late model stuff, like what Dave offered.

In my opinion a 1 ton truck should have at least 1 ton components, more braking ability is most always welcome.

So...are you gonna sell kits, or parts, or plans? I have decided to upgrade my 3600 with disc, but need a drawing for the caliper bracket.

I still have a mock bracket made from 1/4" plywood and some paper templates somewhere out in the shed. I was attempting something a little different. 13" 1-ton Rear rotors on the front. Calipers were rear van calipers or Tahoe/Silverado front calipers.

Julian, brakes look great. I'm guessing you've put a few miles on them since the last post, any observations you can share?

I looked for a thread related to your conversion to disk but didn't find one. I'm building a basket of info on upgrading the brakes on my 3600 and would love to add details on your work.

Ron, Search for Dave Chapman post. That's who I bought them from. I'll send you his instructions. They are large files so I'll send them to your mailbox on this forum.

I’m also interested in the instructions or any literature that you may have from Dave. Though I had them saved but can’t find them.

I just figured out why Dave's brakes don't hit the axle. He had a 1" spacer that fit between the wheel and the mount. What he did was drill the spacer for 16 mounts. 8 bolts to mount the spacer to the Hub and 8 bolts to mount a wheel.
