I was out at Gateway's showroom today and stumbled on this old gem. I remembered in one of many conversations with Dave, on these old trucks, that he mentioned a 3800 yellow restoration that he did for a fella near me. I never saw the truck on the road or at a local show, but it sure is nice. Now I'm not sure it's $63K nice, the old boy probably spent that much with Dave and is trying to recover his funds, and maybe he will if he finds that one guy that needs it for his collection. I wouldn't bet the ranch on it though.
Anyway have a look, he did a nice job. For those folks that don't recognize the name, Dave owned the Hollister road company here in Houston and he offered a front wheel disc brake kit for 3800's. He passed away earlier this year, and will be missed.

Nice truck, I'd describe it as nicely restored with tasteful upgrades for power, comfort and safety (ac, modern wheels and tires, 4 wheel disk brakes with parking brake, power steering, seat/shoulder belts). What's not to like, just needs to be driven,,,,to my house. And about 40k less expensive.

Nice RestoMod. I would be afraid to take it on the road after spending $63k on it!

People do it everyday, check the price on a fancy new 1 ton pickup.

That is a nicely done truck. Other notable features, 17" tubeless tires and wheels? SM465 transmission, 54/55 model engine/transmission crossmember. It does look like a later model 14 bolt axle, which would have faster gear choices then even 4.10 if needed.
As nice as it is it could look even better with careful attention to detail on hose and wire layout, and the rear driveshaft is possibly to short, extended past the missing slip yoke dust seal.

Nice truck. Interesting that the floor lever for the parking brake is attached to a cable, and the ID tag is on sideways? I also notice the wiper switch on the dash, I wonder if it has vacuum wipers, or is there a dash mounted switch available for the electric motor?

I agree Ron. Would love to have it. Did you guys notice that fan control on the firewall. Never seen one of those, but I'm going to research for my vette. I've never had a problem with my stovebolt engines running hot. Can't imagine the A/C has that kind of an impact. Also did you notice the extensive brake dust on the inside of those rims. Either real cheap pads, or someone has a heavy foot.
