1951 GMC 100. Looks like it's original because of the locations it's in. Which gray do you think this is? I need to match some paint and want to give the shop a starting point if I can..
I am no GMC expert (nor an expert of much of anything for that matter), but in my opinion, that is not original paint. 1) The parting line between interior color and exterior color is all wrong. 2) The brake and clutch pedal shafts are painted the same color gray, but they should not be painted interior color. 3) These trucks did not come with a heater from the factory, so they were never the same color as the interior. Even a truck which came with the champagne color and had a heater installed by the dealer, the heater was not the same color as the interior and they were not gray. Your mileage may vary. Carl

Good info! The truck has had work done to it in the past and is in great shape, and I knew it had been repainted red but thought the interior color was original. Makes sense that it's been repainted. I'll just take the ash tray down for color matching. I'm trying not to get too far into this truck. I've done restorations before and it's sooooo easy to keep peeling the layers back until you're standing in front of a bare chassis. I need to sell it but I want to get it to "decent driver" status before I do. I'm thinking a good cleaning of the interior will be good enough but I need to paint a couple trims pieces.
