any one can tell me what colour the engine was painted IE; ROCKER COVER OIL PAN ECT
AND if wanted to crome anything what should i crome on the engine

I would clean up and put away your original parts. If you like the original gray the valve cover decal is available along with nearly every other part on your truck. Have fun. Curt B.
