I needed to remove the front clip from my truck, but couldn't find any detailed instructions or good videos. I read that it was pretty straight-forward - which it is - but preferred to have more details. The videos I found were not very informative, or it was very difficult to see anything - mostly too dark. So I decided to create a more informative video. I hope someone finds it helpful.

I think that is a good example of a video and you did well. Amazing how much access front clip removal provides,

Good job. thumbs_up

I found that the support rod brackets gave a good balance point as well when I took my front clip off. I thought you were going to forget unbolting the support rods, but you saved it later in the video. smile

I didn't have to worry much about most of the bolts, as rust removed most of them for me.

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.

Pretty straight forward! I have to say though that is a lot of work to get the transmission out. Ive pulled mine a few times over the years to do clutches and what not,and found it quite easy to disconnect torque tube and tie it up out of the way then take trans out. But each to their own process. I'm a big promoter of finding the quickest and easiest way do do things, that often comes with trial and error, but in the end I come up with a process that works very well. I say all that because I read a lot on here of the way guys process how to do a job and it's made difficult in that its way to over thought. I would hazard a guess and say that if one looked at a shop manual on removing the transmission, pulling the clip is not part of the procedure. I've never looked and if I'm wrong ...no problem. I'll have learned otherwise!
