I just purchased a 3600 1953 truck. I trying to do a stock order of likely parts to have on the shelves as I live in UK. I have checked my engine number and it’s a 216. I want to order a gasket engine set but I can only find 217 listed. Is the 217 the same engine as a 216.
Note I am a complete beginner to Chevy trucks so assume I know nothing.

The designation 217 is sort of meaningless but I believe it is a computer roundup of 216.5. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2018 Posts: 84 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2018 Posts: 84 | Thanks for the replies. I was just trying to buy a cover all set for my new truck. So I have parts to hand when I encounter problems. If you can see anything else I have missed and likely to need replacing please let my know

So I did not name the company website I was ordering from. If you can recommend any suppliers who are specialists for my truck please let me know. I’m at the stage where the advise from the supplier is worth more to me than just buying cheapest parts etc. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 Ex Hall Monitor | | Ex Hall Monitor Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 | Note I was not sure if this forum is affiliated with any parts supplier as some forums are.
